Wilf Slack Young Cricketers Development Trust
The Wilf Slack Trust was started in 1992 when a 50 year lease on a sports ground in East Finchley was obtained. The aim was to provide cricketing and other sporting opportunities for schools and local youth organizations. The driving force behind this was Vic Cooke. On his death in 2009 the other Trustees felt that the aims could best be filled by selling the remainder of the lease (to The Hall School), investing the money and using the interest to support cricketing initiatives. For the 2011 cricket season the Trust sponsored a team in the Wisden City Cup. The Trust is now delighted to assist the Grassroots Academy in its programme of winter training and look forward to a long term partnership with the Academy.
