Grass Roots Academy

Welcome to the Grass Roots Academy

We are a dynamic and innovative organisation offering high quality cricket coaching and mentoring particularly for inner city youths.

The Grass Roots Academy is particularly unique in the way that all of the founders and managers have progressed through academies and flourished. The breeding ground for their success was the London Cricket College formerly known as the Haringey Cricket College based in North London. It was at this influential academy where not only all of the Grass Roots Academy staff prospered but many other students of the college went on to play at the county level such as:

Mark Alleyne MBE      Keith Piper                  Adrian Rollins          Frankie Griffith
Adrian Rollins             Frankie Griffith            Carlos Remy            Steve Atkinson
Irfan Shah                  Steve Bastien               Gurdeep Kandola    Robert Rollins

Mission Statement

The Grass Roots Academy is passionate about English cricket, so much so that we’d like to see more opportunities for young cricketers to:

        – ·have access to high quality coaching and mentoring
        – ·play more competitive cricket
        – ·progress without limits

By providing this we can help to ensure that English cricket is able to choose its elite from a wider and more realistic demographic.

We do this by offering the bulk of the coaching and mentoring in the pre season or winter months, and club/academy fixtures in the summer to complete an annual syllabus.

The Grass Roots Academy will also assist individuals who are interested in obtaining qualifications in areas such as:

           – ·cricket
           – ·nutrition
           – ·personal training
           – ·strength & conditioning
           – ·sports psychology
           – ·young leaders

In conclusion, the Grass Roots Academy represents life changing opportunities for talented young people in the game and for English cricket it is an opportunity to capture the imagination of a wider audience and keep the quality of the domestic game high
